…and with that in mind it is time to get back to blogging!
I think I mentioned in a previous post that we are growing our own flowers. Well, my mom is – she’s got the green fingers in this family; I could kill a cactus (and have done in the past in fact). We are having wildflowers and gypsophila/babies breath in the table arrangements, and the bouquets are gypsophila mixed with hydrangea blooms from a friend’s garden…blooming beautiful! We did a trial run with the flowers last year – one of the benefits of a two year engagement – and they were fab!
The table vases are bargain-tastic milk bottle style affairs from the Scandinavian treasure trove that is Ikea. The bouquets will be wrapped with floristry tape, then covered with white lace off-cuts and secured with the Pride & Prejudice book brooches I made (see my previous post).
The wildflowers were planted at the allotment yesterday by my super mom and bro, so watch this space for growing pics…I can’t wait to see them! It’ll be a bit of a task cutting all the flowers and then arranging them the day before the wedding, but I think that the laid back simplicity of the arrangements will really suit the feel of the wedding (as well as being budget-friendly).
Flower-power pics below!
